Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Pathankot to Dharamshala, nestled in the Kangra Valley. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to unwind. In the afternoon, begin exploring the town with a visit to the Dalai Lama Temple Complex, followed by the peaceful surroundings of Bhagsunath Temple and Bhagsu Waterfall. Enjoy the cool mountain air with a walk around the bustling Tibetan market, and end your day with dinner at a cozy café overlooking the Dhauladhar range.
After breakfast, head towards Palampur, often referred to as the "Tea Capital of North India." The drive offers picturesque views of terraced fields and pine forests. Upon arrival, explore the lush green tea gardens and visit the Palampur Co-operative Tea Factory to learn about tea processing. Later, take a serene walk along the Neugal Khad river or visit the famous Tashi Jong Monastery for a touch of Tibetan culture. Relax in the evening with a peaceful retreat into nature’s calm.
On Day 3, drive to Bir Billing – India’s paragliding capital. Once there, gear up for an unforgettable paragliding experience as you soar over the majestic hills and valleys (optional for adventure seekers). Apart from adventure, Bir is also a center for meditation and Tibetan studies. You can explore the Bir Tibetan Colony and the beautiful monasteries like Chokling and Nyingyang. Enjoy a peaceful evening at one of the hillside cafés, watching the sunset over the paragliding landing site.
After breakfast, take in the last views of the serene landscapes before starting your drive back to Pathankot. You can make a brief stop in Baijnath to visit the ancient Shiva temple, one of the oldest in the region. Arrive in Pathankot by late afternoon, concluding your adventure-filled yet peaceful tour with memories of paragliding thrills, spiritual experiences, and the untouched beauty of the Himachali hills.
